Friday, July 19th, 2024 will be remembered as one of the most chaotic days around the world. The global IT outage caused massive problems for banks, airlines, and hospitals and has been analyzed through technical breakdowns, report analyses, articles, and news outlets — so we won't add another analysis to the mix.
We're here to share the memes.
But before we have a bit of fun with some of the Qase team's favorite memes and jokes in response to the CrowdStrike outage, we'd like to acknowledge that while some of us were having a good laugh, thousands of others were negatively impacted by this issue. We appreciate and acknowledge all the IT, Development, Quality Assurance, and Testing professionals who worked (and continue to work) on resolving the issues.

Microsoft didn’t start the fire but they sure got some heat!
CrowdStrike is an independent cybersecurity company, so while their software update took out many Microsoft systems, this was not a Microsoft incident. Of course, that wasn’t immediately clear and the jokes were abundant.

Laughing from the sidelines
While people and companies around the world struggled, plenty of others were enjoying being on the sidelines and feeling smug about not being affected.

So terrible it's funny
Again, we know this massive outage was a disaster. But aren't disasters a little easier to deal with when the jokes are good?
